Public Health suggests to avoid unsafe sex during holidays

Santo Domingo.– The Public Health Ministry through the Sexually Transmitted Infection and AIDS Control Board (DIGECITSS) reiterated his call to the population to avoid unsafe sex during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

According to DIGECITSS director Dr. Luis Ernesto Feliz Baez, the country has made great progress in controlling HIV and AIDS, from a generalized epidemic to a focused epidemic affecting vulnerable sectors of the population, including youth.

The expert said that in times like these, it is recommended to maintain sanity and avoid getting wild. "We must avoid that, in order not to regret unfortunate actions once the festivities are over."

Feliz Baez also called the sexually active youth to benefit from monogamy and fidelity, as a way to safely enjoy sex without being exposed to hundreds of STDs and HIV virus.
