Dominican tourism journalists celebrate annual fellowship

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Association of Tourism Press (Adompretur) hosted a New Year’s Eve celebration for its members to thank them for their support of the board and its management during the past year of great achievements for tourism.

For the past six years, Adompretur has held its annual New Year’s Eve celebration in January instead of December. This is to avoid the busy holiday season and to allow members to start the new year off on a positive note.

The event took place in the Blue Room of the Paraíso Club in a festive atmosphere. Members danced to traditional Dominican music, including merengue and bachata, and enjoyed live music performed by the San Judas Tadeo Orchestra of the National Police.

Adompretur President Yenny Polanco Lovera led the celebration, which also included raffles for prizes such as gift baskets, weekend stays at sponsoring hotels, and luxury dinners at city hotels.

In her welcome address, Polanco Lovera said that the annual New Year’s Eve celebration has become the most important networking and socializing event for journalists organized by Adompretur.

She also announced that Adompretur will be signing an agreement with the Paraíso Club to allow members to become official members of the club.

In addition to Polanco Lovera, other Adompretur executives in attendance included Salvador Batista, vice president; Cristian Mota, secretary general; Mayra De Peña, finance; Carmen Bretón, communication and public relations; José Alberto Selmo, institutional relations; Juan de Dios Valentín, regional affairs; Amelia Reyes, training; José Ramón Torres, culture and tourism; Cristina Rosario, events; and Cynthia Martínez, marketing.

Adompretur thanked the sponsors of the event, which included Adompretur, Paraíso Club, San Judas Tadeo Orchestra of the National Police, Catalonia Santo Domingo Hotel, Asonahores, Lopesan Costa Bávaro, Inclusive Collection Hotels, Comedores Económicos, La Chivería Restaurant in Yaguate, San Cristóbal, and Industrias San Miguel.

Additional sponsors included Cervecería Nacional Dominicana, Cristina Núñez (Dominican artisan), Tripulantes VIP, Lifestyle Holidays Hotels and Resorts, Grupo Sarma, Helados Bon, Star Products, Baldom, and Levapan.
