Santo Domingo.- Anticorruption Dept. (Pepca) director Laura Guerrero on Monday said it’s up to the courts to decide whether to accept as valid information by Dominican Republic whistleblowers, allegedly paid by Washington in corruption cases.
She said however that the agency has never used such information during investigations into cases of corruption.
Guerrero said what’s sought in such cases are the facts, and if whistleblowers’ information can be substantiated otherwise it could be valid in court.
The official said Pepca even launches investigations into corruption through newspaper reports, which in her view are extremely important.
