COE issues green alert for three provinces

Santo Domingo.– Due to decreasing rainfall forecasts, the Emergency Operations Center (COE) Friday discontinued the green alert level for the provinces of Samana, Maria Trinidad Sanchez, Duarte, La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, El Seibo and La Romana.

The COE ratified the green alert for Greater Santo Domingo, Monte Plata and San Pedro de Macoris. In these provinces, the alert is for possible flash floods, mudslides and overflowing rivers, streams and creeks.

The authorities called residents in high risk areas to take precautionary measures and avoid crossing streams with large volumes.
