Santo Domingo.- Temperatures reached as low as 5 degrees Celsius in Dominican Republic’s mountains early Thursday, the National Meteorology Office affirmed today.
It forecasts fewer rains nationwide starting today, as dry air from a high pressure system over the Atlantic Ocean creates stable conditions, expected to continue during the next 24 to 48 hours, and likely into the weekend.
It notes however that the humidity dragged by the East/Northeast wind will bring some widely scattered showers to the East, Cibao valley, Samaná Bay and the Caribbean coast.
Meteorology said the surf along the Atlantic coast and the Mona Passage is gradually returning to normal, but small craft should still operate with caution.
It also recommends that small craft remain near the coast in Samaná Bay and along the Caribbean Coast.
