Major city’s mayor embezzled more than RD$100.0M, prosecutor

Santo Domingo.- The Justice Ministry on Tuesday announced a warrant to arrest San Francisco (northeast) mayor Félix Manuel Rodríguez, charged with corruption against the State.

Anti-corruption prosecutor Laura Guerrero also requested a warrant to arrest San Francisco city hall Treasurer Fior Daliza Genao as well as former City Hall payroll manager Jerson Nerys Lizardo.

Guerrero said the officials of the country’s third city are charged with forgery, obstruction of Justice, , breach of trust and conspiracy to embezzle more than RD$100 million.

On a cruise

According to local media, Rodriguez is on a cruise, and said he’ll surrender once he returns.
