Antinarcotics chief proposes special courts for drug crimes

Santo Domingo.- The Chamber of Deputies Special Citizen Security Commission yesterday discussed a proposal to create specialized courts for cases of drug trafficking and organized crime.

In also discussed a proposal to amend Law 50-88 to give the Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) budgetary autonomy and assign the funds every year according to the work it realizes.

Both proposals were discussed during the visit by DNCD president Rolando Rosado to Congress, where he delivered drafts of the proposals he considers are needed including the Penal Procedural Code and other laws to effectively fight street and organized crime, especially drug trafficking.
