Today is a holiday in Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.– The Ministry of Labor determined that today, Monday 30th, the Dominican Republic will commemorate Juan Pablo Duarte’s birthday anniversary, in order to create a long weekend.

Duarte, forefather of the Dominican nationality, was born on a 26th of January. Last Thursday he was remembered throughout the country, and in San Francisco de Macoris, Duarte province, there was a Mass and a civilian and military parade, headed by President Leonel Fernandez.
