Venezuela mogul is latest personality to get Dominican nationality:EFE

Santo Domingo.- Venezuelan media mogul Gustavo Cisneros on Monday acquired the Dominican nationality, reports EFE, citing confirmation by a source in the Central Electoral Board (JCE).

The tycoon joins the likes of singers Danny Rivera, Elsvis Crespo, Julio Iglesias and Diego el Cigala in adopting Dominican citizenship.

Cisneros, who started the naturalization process in 2012, received Dominican Republic’s cedula, the country’s official ID and electoral card from JCE president Roberto Rosario, the source said.

Considered one of Latin America’s wealthiest people, the entrepreneur at the meeting said with his ID card he can enjoy “all rights and duties of nationality and citizenship in the Dominican Republic," according to the source.

Cisneros owns several real estate properties in the Dominican Republic and owns TV network Venevisión.
