Airlines cancel flights as landfall looms

Santo Domingo.- As Tropical Storm Chantal is expected to make landfall in the country in the next few hours, some airlines have canceled several flights, the airports management company (Aerodom) said Wednesday.

American Airlines canceled four flights to Miami out of Las Americas International Airport, while Gol airline canceled its flights to and from Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Miami and Orlando.

At La Isabela (Higuero) International Airport, MAS Airlines canceled its flight to Port au Prince, while Tortuga Air still maintains both of theirs to and from that destination, and the airports at Puerto Plata and Samana maintain their regular flights.
