Monday traffic accidents kill 7, injure 61 nationwide

Santo Domingo.- The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (AMET) reported seven dead and 61 injured in traffic accidents during the last hours nationwide.

It said five people were killed and 22 were hurt in accidents involving motorcycles, while seven more were seriously injured a small bus and an SUV collided Monday morning 58 kilometers north of the capital on the Duarte Highway.

AMET director Juan Geronimo Brown Perez said two of his agents were also injured when the motorcycle one of them was driving slid off the road in Fantino, Cotui (central), and the other hit a bus with his motorbike at San Juan de la Maguana (west).
