Medina readies tour of hurricane’s damage by land

Santo Domingo.- Dispensing with the usual fanfare, president Danilo Medina prepares to tour areas affected Hurricane Sandy’s downpours, on which National Palace sources have yet to inform about the trip and only the motorcade and security detachment have bee seen.

The president arrived at his National Palace office 7am Friday, when unofficial reports specify that the trip will be by land, a decision likely taken on the storm’s continuing winds and rains.

When asked about Medina’s alleged trip, Presidency spokesperson Roberto Rodriguez coyly said he had no such information. "I’ll go for a smoke and then find out."
