Dominican pharmacies sell illegally famous free ‘NYC’ condoms

Santo Domingo.– New York City’s famous branded condoms, distributed for free across the five boroughs under a city Health Department program since 2007, are very popular at some Dominican pharmacies where they are said to be sold illegally.

According to nydailynews.com, the New York City Department of Health gives away about 38 million of the condoms annually to curb the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.

The website reported that an employee at Las Galeras Pharmacy, in Samana, told the Daily News that they purchase the condoms from an unknown distributor in the country.
