DR and Turkey sign cooperation agreements

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Republic and Turkey signed several economic and civil aviationbilateral agreements on civil aviation, economic cooperation and the implementation of visa exemption protocols for diplomatic passports.

President Danilo Medina met with Turkish minister of Foreign Relations Ahmet Davutoglu, who was accompanied by Turkish ambassador Aydin Evirgen, Deputy Foreign minister Jose Manuel Trullols and Foreign Relations Deputy Minister Cesar Dargam.

A future free trade agreement is being contemplated as well as the possibility of the Dominican Republic opening an embassy in Ankara, Turkey. In October 2013 Turkey opened its embassy in Santo Domingo.
