Traffic cops join emergency organizations for Easter

Santo Domingo.– The national traffic police (AMET) joined the emergency organizations to prevent accidents along the highways and roads throughout the country during Easter Week.

The traffic cops are working together with the Emergency Operations Center (COE), the National Police, the Armed Forces Ministry, the Ministry of Public Works, the Dominican Red Cross and the Civil Defense.

AMET spokesman Roberto Lebron said some 4,000 officers, headed by General Brown Perez, are working the streets imposing penalties for motorists and drivers who broke traffic laws.
