Samana, DR.– A 3-year-old boy in the northeastern town of Las Terrenas, Samana, died while his mother was seriously injured when they were attacked by three pit-bull dogs, the police reported.

The deadly attack took place at a villa owned by a French citizen (Jeremi) where Patricia Alvarado, 24, worked as a maid. Her son, Juan Antonio Garcia Alvarado, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Los Cubanos hospital.

The boy’s mother was bitten on the neck when she tried to prevent the animals from killing her son. She was treated at the Los Cubanos hospital and later transported to Santo Domingo’s "Doctor Dario Contreras" Hospital, where she remains in serious condition.
