Premier Culinary Weekend introduced by Puntacana Resort

Punta Cana.- Under the theme “A party for the palate,” Puntacana Resort is set to host the inaugural Culinary Weekend from March 7 to 10, featuring the culinary expertise of five acclaimed chefs from Latin America in an exclusive gastronomic gathering.

Internationally renowned chefs Mitsuhara Tsuruma, Marsia Taha, Benjamin Nast, Álvaro Clavijo, and Janaina Torres will curate a selection of exquisite dishes, promising an unforgettable dining experience for attendees.

The gastronomic festivities kick off on Thursday, March 7, with a cocktail event introducing the weekend’s chefs. Bolivian chef Marsia Taha, honored as the Newest Female Chef of Latin America in 2021, and Chilean chef Benjamin Nast, recognized in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, will present appetizers.

On Friday, March 8, the culinary journey continues with chef Mitsuhara Tsuruma, an expert in Nikkei gastronomy, blending Japanese and Peruvian influences. Tsuruma, owner of the renowned Peruvian restaurant MAIDO, holds the top spot in the SUMMUM Guide as Peru’s best restaurant, securing positions 3 and 11 on Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants and The World’s 50 Best Restaurants lists, respectively.

Saturday, March 9, will showcase the talents of chef Janaina Rueda, ranked #4 in the “50 Best” Restaurants in Latin America, alongside the culinary prowess of Marsia Taha.

The Culinary Weekend concludes on Sunday, March 10, featuring the inventive cuisine of chef Alvaro Clavijo, who holds the #2 position in the “50 Best” Restaurants in Latin America, with the return of Benjamin Nast.

This culinary celebration is made possible with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic and Banreservas.
