Meta’s social networks experience widespread outages

Santo Domingo.- This Tuesday, the social media networks of Meta, including Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger, experienced widespread disruptions globally, as reported by the group’s spokesperson, Andy Stone.

“We are aware that users are facing difficulties accessing our services. We are working on it,” stated Stone on the X network, confirming the information from the Downdetector site.

Downdetector recorded up to 580,000 trouble reports from Facebook users and up to 92,000 from Instagram users. However, the site indicated a significant decrease in these reports less than an hour after the outages began.

“We know that there is a problem affecting the connection to Facebook. Our teams of engineers are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” mentioned the Californian group on its site, which provides information on potential operating problems.

Nearly 4, 000 million people utilize at least one of Meta’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp) every month.

Taking advantage of the Meta group’s social network outage, Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter), humorously commented, “If you are reading this post, it is because our servers are working.” He posted a meme about the outages on his X account.
