Refidomsa Foundation helps mother who requested government assistance to build her home

Santo Domingo – The Refidomsa Foundation announced that it would assume the construction of a house for a humble woman who appealed to the Government to provide her with one since she is staying with relatives and her five children.

Dr. Leonardo Aguilera, president of the Dominican Oil Refinery and the Foundation, made the announcement. He said helping Mrs. Ana Luisa Lebrón Martínez is part of the company’s social responsibility policy.

The mother, who was in a situation of vulnerability, called through social networks for help from the Government, a call that was answered by officials of the Executive Branch, and whose solution will be given through the Refidomsa Foundation.

The lady, who lived in a humble house with her children in the La Ciénaga sector of Santo Domingo Oeste, lost her property due to the rain in the country last November.

Following the request, Dr. Aguilera arranged for a team from the Foundation to survey the place, from which the solution for the woman’s home emerged.

After talking with Executive Branch officials, Aguilera added that other families in similar conditions in the area will also benefit from interventions to improve their homes.

“Immediately, our team of engineers and technicians in the social area will be working so that in the coming weeks, Ana Luisa and her children, as well as other inhabitants of the sector who suffer the same needs, can improve their living conditions by adapting their properties and solving other needs,” added the president of Refidomsa.

He said that he was moved by the story of Mrs. Lebrón Martínez, given the precarious situation in which she and her children find themselves. Hence, he immediately instructed the state-owned company’s social arm to conduct a survey and begin construction work on her new house.

During his three-and-a-half years of administration, the Executive said this action was part of several interventions and projects in various parts of the country.
