Santo Domingo – For the week of March 23 to 29, 2024, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and MiPymes has decided that fuels will be sold at the following prices:

Regular Gasoil RD$, 221.60 per gallon, maintains its price.
Gasoil Óptimo RD$239.10 per gallon maintains its price.
Avtur RD$217.40 per gallon up RD$4.08.
Kerosene RD$249.40 per gallon up RD$4.26.
Fuel Oíl #6 RD$166.21 per gallon up RD$6.99.
Fuel Oíl 1%S RD$182.53 per gallon up RD$6.20.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) RD$132.60 per gallon maintains its price.
Natural Gas RD$43.97 per m3 maintains its price.

The average weekly exchange rate is RD$59.22, according to the daily publications of the Central Bank.

Ramon Perez Fermin, Vice Minister of Internal Commerce, informed that the Dominican Government has decided to maintain the prices of the most demanded fuels without variation to protect the consumers’ economy.

“In an effort to avoid transferring the rises in international fuel prices to our population, a significant subsidy has been provided for the main fuel products,” said the deputy minister.

Perez Fermin explained that regular diesel is subsidized by almost 40 pesos a gallon, and optimum diesel is subsidized by 30 pesos a gallon. As for regular gasoline, the subsidy will be more than 40 pesos per gallon, while premium gasoline will be more than 35 pesos per gallon. LPG, vital for Dominican households, will be subsidized by more than 9 pesos.

“These subsidies represent a sacrifice for the Dominican Government of approximately RD$720.6 million for this week alone, demonstrating our commitment not to transfer international price hikes to our consumers in a challenging global context, with lower supplies and a higher demand for fuels,” he added.
