Police shut down liquor stores near universities

Santo Domingo.– NationalDistrict prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso and National Police Chief ManuelCastro headed a simultaneous policeoperation Friday night to close liquor stores operating near universities inthe Dominican capital.

The operation wasexecuted after several residents complained due to the noise and disturbance originatedin the nearby alcoholic beverage establishments.

Some of the 16centers shut down by the police are "Encuentro Billar", located on Alma Materstreet near the Santo Domingo State University (UASD), and "Uni Drink", in front ofSantiago’s technological university (UTESA) on Maximo Gomez avenue.
