Another 11 Dominicans evacuated from Haiti

Santo Domingo.- On Tuesday, the Government responded to a plea for assistance by evacuating 11 Dominican citizens residing in Haiti, citing the escalating violence and insecurity within the neighboring nation.

The evacuation operation, conducted by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense in collaboration with the Haitian Foreign Ministry, saw the safe repatriation of 6 men, 3 women, and 2 minors, as outlined in a concise statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Upon their arrival at the Foreign Ministry headquarters, the evacuees were warmly welcomed by Vice Minister Opinio Díaz, overseeing Consular and Immigration Affairs, alongside Miguel Reyes, Director of Protection of Nationals.

The Dominican Embassy in Haiti stands as the primary point of contact for any Dominican nationals seeking assistance or repatriation from the troubled nation.
