Teen injured at Salcedo carnival transferred to Boston Hospital

Santo Domingo.- The National Health Service (SNS) announced that the management of Dr. Robert Reid Cabral Pediatric Hospital successfully facilitated the transfer of a 15-year-old adolescent to Boston Hospital in the United States. The teenager had been admitted to the hospital following burns sustained in a fire during the Salcedo Carnival.

Dr. Mabel Jones, the director of the hospital, stated that the transfer was conducted with the full consent of the patient’s parents. She further explained that the adolescent, who had suffered second-degree burns covering 50 percent of his body, has shown significant clinical improvement, warranting the possibility of transfer.

Dr. Jones emphasized the hospital’s commitment to providing the patient with the best available treatment and recovery options, acknowledging the complexity of his condition.

“Our primary focus has been on his well-being and care, driving our relentless pursuit of opportunities to enhance his recovery and overall quality of life,” she remarked.

During his approximately 15-day stay at the hospital, the young man received specialized medical attention and dedicated care from the hospital’s medical team. “We remain hopeful that upon his return, he will come back fully recovered,” added Robert Reid, the hospital director.
