Puntacana Resort announces 7th Edition of Corales Puntacana Championship PGA TOUR Event

Punta Cana.- The Puntacana Resort is thrilled to announce the upcoming 7th edition of the Corales Puntacana Championship PGA TOUR Event, taking place at the Corales Golf Course from April 15 to 21, 2024. This prestigious event boasts a record-breaking purse of US$3.9 million dollars, along with 300 FedExCup points, making it the highest in the history of Dominican sports. With 132 players hailing from 20 countries across 5 continents, this championship promises to be an exhilarating display of talent and sportsmanship.

Manuel Sajour, Executive Marketing Director of Grupo Puntacana, expressed his delight in continuing the tradition of hosting such a unique sporting event, which not only showcases the Dominican Republic but also promotes Punta Cana as a premier golf destination in the Caribbean.

The announcement was made during a meeting attended by executives of the Puntacana Group, partners, brand allies, and members of the media. Among the prominent figures present were Enrique Valverde, President of the Dominican Golf Federation (FEDOGOLF), and Hiram Silfa, Director of Golf Courses at Puntacana Resort.

Enrique Valverde emphasized the significance of hosting the Corales Puntacana Championship PGA TOUR Event for the seventh consecutive year, highlighting its status as the country’s premier golfing event.

Several past champions, including Chad Ramey, Joel Dahmen, and Brice Garnett, have already confirmed their participation, alongside other notable players such as Charley Hoffman, Justin Suh, Ben Martin, and Adam Long. The tournament will also feature strong Latin American representation, with players like Nicolas Echavarría, Jonathan Vegas, Rafa Campos, and Hiram Silfa showcasing their talents.

With a global reach spanning 153 countries and an estimated viewership of 7 million in the United States and 4 million in Europe, the Corales Puntacana Championship promises to captivate audiences worldwide. Attendees can look forward to a range of recreational activities, food truck areas, oceanfront skyboxes, live music, and entertainment for the whole family, as well as ample parking facilities.

Live coverage of the event will be provided by Golf Channel on April 18 and 19 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, and on April 20 and 21 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
