U.S. Thanks DR for support in removing U.S. citizens from Haiti

Santo Domingo – At the latter’s request, the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, held a telephone conversation this morning with the Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken. In it, he expressed his deep appreciation for the Dominican Government’s collaboration in the ongoing evacuations, which have facilitated the safe return of U.S. citizens to Haitian territory.

The Secretary of State took the opportunity to request the Dominican Republic’s continued support to ensure the departure of all U.S. citizens still in Haiti.

President Abinader reaffirmed his government’s commitment to work closely with the United States to reunite American families, ensuring the safety and well-being of all.

Both leaders agreed to maintain constant and coordinated communication to ensure the success of this evacuation operation.

Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez was present during the conversation.
