Blinken calls Abinader to discuss Haiti

Santo Domingo – U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken called Dominican President Luis Abinader on Friday to discuss the Haitian crisis.

An official statement from the State Department indicates that the head of U.S. diplomacy discussed with President Abinader the coordinated actions underway regarding the Haitian crisis.

The announcement of the call made to Abinader comes on the same day that the United States announced that it will return Haitians who enter its territory by sea.

» Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with President Luis Abinader of the Dominican Republic. Secretary Blinken and President Abinader discussed ongoing coordinated actions related to the situation in Haiti. The Secretary thanked President Abinader for the support so that American families can return to the United States.”
