Kimpton Las Mercedes to launch in the Colonial City

Santo Domingo.- Rodrigo Silveyra, Director of Operations for America at Grupo Iberostar, expressed enthusiasm about the forthcoming debut of the Kimpton Las Mercedes, marking the first property under the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brand as part of their expanded agreement with IHG and Iberostar Beachfront Resorts. Silveyra highlighted this as a positive outcome stemming from their ongoing collaboration and expansion with IHG.

Scheduled to welcome local and international tourists starting July 1, 2024, the Kimpton Las Mercedes is situated in the Colonial City of Santo Domingo. Owned by Megeve Investment Office SAS and operated by Iberostar Hotels, this represents the inaugural partnership between the Spanish hotel group and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.

Featuring 130 rooms and eight spacious terrace suites, each boasting a private balcony, the property is now open for reservations via its website, with stays available from July 15, 2024.

Paul Adán, Regional Senior Vice President of Development for Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean at IHG Hotels & Resorts, emphasized the significance of expanding Kimpton’s footprint in the Caribbean through the opening of Kimpton Las Mercedes. Adán highlighted the hotel’s refined style, innovative dining options, and personalized service, positioning it as a gateway for guests to explore the rich offerings of Santo Domingo.

Upon its launch in early summer 2024, Kimpton Las Mercedes will join the ranks of five Kimpton hotels in the Caribbean and Latin America. With 78 hotels currently operational worldwide and 54 projects in development, the brand continues to expand its presence globally.
