Dominican Republic condemns Iran’s attacks on Israel

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic has strongly condemned Iran’s recent attacks against Israel, expressing deep concern over the escalation of violence that poses a threat to international peace and security.

In a statement posted on its social media account, the Dominican Government expressed solidarity with Israel and called for an immediate ceasefire to halt the ongoing hostilities.

The attacks from Iran, which included missiles and drones, were reportedly in retaliation for an earlier offensive attributed to Israel against the Iranian diplomatic headquarters in Damascus. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that most of the incoming missiles and drones were intercepted by Israeli defenses, resulting in no fatalities.

According to the Israeli Army’s report on Sunday, out of approximately 170 drones launched by Iran, none reached Israeli territory. Additionally, Israeli defenses intercepted 25 out of about 30 cruise missiles and successfully neutralized nearly all of the over 120 ballistic missiles fired.
