Trough will continue to generate rains this Sunday

Santo Domingo—According to the weather report of the National Meteorological Office (Onamet), a trough is expected to continue causing rains over some provinces of the national territory this Sunday.

Rainfall will occur from the morning hours, mainly in the Atlantic coast and the northwest region, intensifying and gradually extending to the Central Mountain Range, southeast, and southwest during the course of the day.

These rains will be accompanied by thunderstorms and gusts of wind in different locations with the weather alert, such as Sánchez Ramírez, El Seibo, San Juan, Dajabón, La Romana, Samaná, San Cristóbal, Azua, San José de Ocoa, Elías Piña, Valverde.

While on notice are San Pedro de Macorís, Hato Mayor, Duarte, La Vega, Monte Plata, El Gran Santo Domingo, Monseñor Nouel, Monte Cristi, Santiago, Santiago Rodríguez, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez and Hermanas Mirabal.

Due to the abnormally rough seas, mainly on the Atlantic coast, small and medium-sized boats are advised to stay on dry land.
