JCE plenary heads to US to supervise Presidential Elections

Santo Domingo.- A delegation from the Central Electoral Board (JCE), led by President Román Andrés Jáquez Liranzo and regular members Rafael Armando Vallejo Santelises, Dolores Fernández, Samir Chami Isa, and Patricia Lorenzo Paniagua, will embark on a trip to the United States on Wednesday, May 1. Their primary objective is to oversee the preparations for the upcoming presidential and overseas parliamentary elections and engage in discussions with the Dominican community and political parties abroad.

The delegation comprises members of the Technical Table for Voting Abroad, including representatives from the Directorates of Elections, Information Technology, Voting Abroad, and Political Parties, along with directors of Communications, International Relations, and Protocol.

Scheduled meetings will be held on Thursday, May 2, starting with the Dominican community in Boston at the Courtyard by Marriott-South. The itinerary continues on Friday in Philadelphia at the Germantown Cricket Club, followed by a session in New Jersey at the Marriott Hotel on Saturday. The final meeting will take place on Sunday in New York at the Constantine Hall of the Fordham University School of Law.

The JCE delegation will provide updates on the preparations for the May 19 elections abroad, encompassing both the presidential election and overseas delegations, to the Dominican community, media representatives, and political organization delegates.

In preparation for the elections abroad, the Director of Dominican Vote Abroad, Well Sepúlveda, disclosed that the Offices of Foreign Services (OSE) in New York, along with the Electoral Logistics Coordination Offices (OCLEE) and political parties, are currently receiving electoral material. This includes equipment for scanning, digitizing, printing, and transmission (EDET), as well as electoral kits. Sepúlveda confirmed that the delivery of ballot boxes, booths, and indelible ink has already been completed in New York, with further shipments expected to arrive at other destinations throughout the week.
