Cesfront arrests five people after committing a robbery in a hotel in Pedernales

The group of assailants consisted of three Dominicans, a Haitian, and a Venezuelan woman.

Pedernales – The Specialized Corps of Land Border Security (CESFronT) arrested five individuals who tried to flee after assaulting several people at the Hotel Mao in Pedernales.

Members of the CESFronT intercepted at the checkpoint of the Operations base a white Kia K5 vehicle after receiving a complaint that several people were robbed of their belongings, including Mr. Josué Castillo Mocios, a Mexican national, who was injured by the assailants.

The detainees were identified as Jhonatan Angleró, of Haitian nationality; Luis Angel Guevara Nolasco; Jefry Matos; Johan García Matos; and Maria Hernandez Aranguren, of Venezuelan nationality.

The group seized a P99S pistol, caliber 3. 80 with its magazine and a capsule for the same, a box of drill screws, two knives, a ZTE modem, a blue vaper, a #8 diameter mechanical key, two identity cards, a key to remove nails, a credit card, a temporary work permit from the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) in the name of the Venezuelan foreigner, two men’s wallets, seven cell phones of different brands including six Samsung, two dollars, the sum of 17,200 pesos, and the vehicle in which they were being transported.

The CESFronT continues with intense patrolling and intelligence work in strict compliance with the guidelines laid out by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa ERD, to eradicate illicit activities in the entire border area for the benefit of the Dominican people.

The detainees and the seized goods were handed over to the National Police for the corresponding purposes.
