Samaná.- A violent incident in a prison in the municipality of Santa Barbara de Samaná resulted in three fatalities and three injuries, confirmed by medical examiner Dr. Karen Nuñez. The injured are currently receiving treatment at Leopoldo Pou Hospital.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Francisco Paulino, Bernardo Montero alias San Juan, and Jose Fernando.
Preliminary details suggest that the altercation commenced at 9 p.m. between two inmates, who then cornered four others with a knife.
Pedro Johnson, the Human Rights Commissioner in the province, expressed his discontent with prison authorities, highlighting that such events had never occurred in Samaná before.
