Italian Embassy to celebrate National Holiday in the Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- The Italian Embassy in the Dominican Republic has announced the celebration of its national holiday for the third time in the country, promising an event that captures the essence of Italian culture and brings together families in a festive atmosphere.

Emulating the vibrant festivals of Italian villages, the event will feature dance music, entertainment for children, and a delightful array of Italian cuisine and beverages. Scheduled for next Saturday, June 1, from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, the gathering will take place at the Monument to Fray Antonio de Montesinos in the Colonial City, as detailed in a press release.

This celebration offers an opportunity for both Italian families and descendants to share their national holiday with Dominicans and foreign residents interested in immersing themselves in Italian culture. Ambassador Stefano Queirolo Palmas, along with various attaches from the diplomatic mission, will be in attendance to welcome guests and partake in the festivities.

Highlights of the event include a children’s show and designated kids’ area featuring attractions and tastings of Italian products, complemented by a mix of Italian and Dominican music. Admission is free for all attendees.

For those arriving before 7:00 pm, a formal ceremony will be held, featuring Italian and Dominican authorities, flag presentations, national anthems, and the presence of uniformed Carabineros.

In addition to the general public, the event will be attended by diplomats accredited in the country, members of the foreign ministry, government officials, and special guests, ensuring a diverse and lively gathering.
