Dominican Association of Tourism Press calls for entries for National Tourism Journalism Award PEL 2024

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Association of Tourism Press (Adompretur) is inviting journalists and communicators to participate in the Epifanio Lantigua National Tourism Journalism Award (PEL). The award, established in 2003 and named after journalist Epifanio Lantigua, recognizes outstanding contributions to promoting tourism in the Dominican Republic.

Eligibility and categories

  • Open to journalists and communicators working in print, television, and digital media.
  • Entries must be published between October 16, 2023, and August 1, 2024.
  • Each participant can submit up to five entries in various categories, including:
    • Written Press
    • Television or YouTube Report
    • Digital Press
    • Television Documentary
    • Printed Magazine
    • Art and Culture
    • Photography
    • Gastronomy
    • Regional Tourism Awards (North, East, South)
  • Deadline for submissions is August 30, 2024, at 11:00 PM.

Prizes

  • Winners in each category receive a certificate and RD$50,000.
  • The jury will select a Grand Prize winner from all category winners, awarding an additional RD$85,000, a statuette, and a trip for two abroad (sponsorship pending).
  • The jury may also award special mentions for exceptional entries.
  • A Special Recognition will be given to a communication medium for its outstanding tourism coverage.

  • Include links to your work, name, titles of reports, media outlet, and publication date.

Award ceremony

Winners will be announced and celebrated at a special ceremony on October 15, 2024.

This prestigious award offers journalists an opportunity to showcase their work and contribute to the continued growth of the Dominican Republic’s tourism industry.
