TSE President visits OAS Secretary General in Washington

Washington.- The presiding judge of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Ygnacio Pascual Camacho Hidalgo, paid a courtesy visit to Luis Almagro, the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), in Washington.

During the meeting, Almagro accepted an invitation to visit the Dominican Republic from October 24 to 25 of this year, as part of the International Congress “Democracy in Latin America”, organized by the High Court and to be held at a hotel in the capital.

Camacho Hidalgo and Almagro discussed the recent electoral process and its implementation of strengthening measures.

The presidential and congressional elections took place on Sunday, May 19, 2024, to elect the president, vice president, 32 senators, 195 deputies, and 20 PARLACEN deputies.

Accompanying the president of the TSE were the Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the OAS, Mayerlyn Cordero Díaz, and Radhafil Rodríguez, Minister Advisor of the Dominican Republic to the OAS.
