Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader of the Dominican Republic has issued Decree 314-24, appointing Lorenzo David Ramírez Uribe as the new head of the General Directorate of Passports, replacing Digna Reynoso.
Furthermore, the decree designates Reynoso as the executive director of the National Presidential Management Council.
This presidential provision repeals Article I of Decree 500-20 dated September 23, 2020, as well as Article I of Decree 133-23 dated March 28, 2023.
Ramírez Uribe holds a degree in industrial engineering and specializes in Productivity and Quality Management from the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (Intec).
Additionally, he is well-versed in the CAPA system for corrective and preventive actions, a tool aimed at enhancing quality management systems. He is also an expert in lean manufacturing (Lean), a philosophy focused on optimizing and improving production processes.
Ramírez Uribe has previously worked as a consultant for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), assisting them in implementing Quality Management Systems and preparing for ISO certification. In this role, he evaluated processes, implemented improvements, and aided manufacturing companies across the supply chain.
