Minister of Tourism announces groundbreaking for Santo Domingo Boulevard

Santo Domingo.- Minister of Tourism, David Collado, revealed plans for the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony led by President Abinader for the construction of a boulevard set to transform the cityscape. Stretching from Winston Churchill to Abraham Lincoln, this ambitious project entails an investment of RD$500 million pesos.

Collado disclosed that construction is slated to commence within the next 20 to 30 days, signaling a clear commitment to urban and tourism development in Santo Domingo. “Our country is poised for tourism development and attracting investments,” he emphasized.

Expressing gratitude to RCD Hotels CEO Roberto Chapur for his confidence in the government and commitment to investing in the country, Collado underscored the significance of this partnership in advancing the tourism agenda of the Dominican Republic. He commended Chapur’s unwavering support, especially during the initial stages of the project in October 2020, amidst uncertainties and apprehensions.

“Your presence here today exemplifies your confidence in President Luis Abinader’s administration and the dedicated efforts of our tourism cabinet,” stated Collado, highlighting the collaborative efforts aimed at the evolution and growth of tourism in the country.
