It underscores their importance for technological innovation and the development of new applications in areas such as intelligent vehicles, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, and automation.

The decree mandates the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs to prepare the National Strategy for the Promotion of the Semiconductor Industry (ENFIS). This strategy aims to position the Dominican Republic as a competitive, reliable, and secure strategic destination for the global semiconductor industry.

The goal of this presidential directive is to establish the Dominican Republic as a dependable, safe, and competitive hub for the semiconductor industry, encompassing all sectors including research and development, design, manufacturing, assembly, testing, packaging, and logistics.
