Washington, US.- Dominican Ambassador to the United States, Sonia Guzmán, was honored by the Council of the Washington Global Public Charter School for her contributions to education. The recognition, presented during a reception at the official residence of the Dominican Republic, highlighted Guzmán’s dedication to educational advancement.
The “Champion Education Award” was presented by Teresa Curristine, President of the Global Council, and Elizabeth Torres, Executive Director and Co-founder of the organization.
The event also marked the tenth anniversary of the founding of the Council.
In her acceptance speech, Ambassador Guzmán expressed her gratitude for the honor and praised the school’s efforts in educating hundreds of students, including many Dominicans. She emphasized the embassy’s support for educational, sports, and cultural activities at various institutions where Dominican students are enrolled, such as Washington Global PCS. Guzmán underscored the importance of these efforts in contributing to the development and future of the students.
She highlighted that Washington Global PCS is a college preparatory middle school with an international focus.
