Santo Domingo.- The Air Force of the Dominican Republic (FARD) is actively conducting intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations in the country’s border areas using the TP-75 DULUS and Tecnam P2006T aircraft.
These missions are based at the Southern Command of the Barahona Air Base, allowing the FARD to monitor the national airspace over the provinces of Montecristi, Dajabón, Elías Piña, Independencia, and Pedernales, with daily flights totaling approximately five hours.
The ISR missions with the TP-75 DULUS and Tecnam P2006T aircraft are part of the Ministry of Defense’s Institutional Strategic Plan (PEI) 2021-2024. This plan includes the strategic axis E1: “Institutional Strengthening of National Defense,” which aims to enhance airspace security and defense along the Dominican border through aerial surveillance.
Notably, the TP-75 DULUS is the first aircraft assembled by the Dominican Republic Air Force’s aviation technicians. This single-engine aircraft features retractable gear and low wings, with an endurance of approximately 5.7 hours, depending on configuration and altitude.
The TP-75 DULUS is equipped for military training maneuvers and ISR missions, playing a crucial role in safeguarding national sovereignty.
