School transportation system criticized

Santo Domingo – The Ministry of Education is determined to create an operating system for school transportation, not contemplated in the Education Law, to the detriment of the country’s traditional carriers, which have offered this service with safety and humane treatment to the students.

The warning was made by the School Transport Service affiliated with the National Transport Consortium (Conatra SAS), which affirms that they have the technical and economic capacity to assume this responsibility. This unfair practice is causing a situation of loss, since these students were part of the demand for seats of the organized transport sector and this deficit causes non-compliance in the commitments of payment of obligations of the transport sector”, expressed in a communication.

Luis Rosado, General Manager of Consorcio Conatra SAS, said that the total deficit amounts to 4 million 200 seats daily, with students going back and forth from their homes to the study centers and vice versa.
