Haitian police retake Gressier Police Station

Haiti.- After hours of intense clashes with armed bandits, the police successfully regained control of the Gressier police station, which had been heavily damaged by the assailants.

Multiple casualties were reported among the bandits during the confrontations with law enforcement officers. Additionally, during the pursuit of the gang leaders who sought refuge in the parish of St-Jean-Baptiste de Gressier, the bandits abducted Priest Emmanuel St-Eloi.

According to Mayor Jean Vladimir Bertrand, the armed attack on the Gressier police station resulted in more than twenty fatalities. In the aftermath, the bandits perpetrated further violence, including the massacre of residents in their homes, leading to heightened fear and anxiety within the community.

The bandits also extensively vandalized the police station, causing significant damage to its front facade, which now lies nearly demolished.
