Boca Chica’s tourist infrastructure devastated by Hurricane Beryl

Boca Chica.- Mayor Ramón Candelaria reported that Hurricane Beryl severely impacted over 90% of Boca Chica’s tourist infrastructure. He called upon President Luis Abinader and Tourism Minister David Collado to urgently assist the community, citing challenges that exceed local resources.

Candelaria emphasized the need for unified permits from the Ministry of Environment and Tourism to streamline reconstruction efforts for affected properties. He assured fairness in the recovery process despite inevitable disparities in outcomes.

The mayor disclosed ongoing coordination meetings with business owners and various governmental bodies to assess damages and estimate required budgets for restoration efforts.
