Santo Domingo.- Minister of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs (MICM), Víctor Bisonó, convened with a public-private delegation set to attend “Semicon West 2024,” the premier semiconductor fair in San Francisco, California.
During the meeting, Bisonó encouraged participants to capitalize on the occasion to showcase the Dominican Republic’s competitive advantages as an investment hub for the microchip industry. The country will leverage a strategic communications strategy developed in collaboration with MICM and the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (Amchamdr) to highlight its full potential.
“I am confident that our representatives will effectively promote the Dominican Republic as the prime destination for semiconductor investments,” Bisonó affirmed, underscoring the nation’s stability, advanced logistics infrastructure, investment incentives, skilled workforce, and strategic geographic position bridging North America, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
Bisonó emphasized President Luis Abinader’s Decree 324-24, elevating the semiconductor industry’s promotion and development to a national priority, signaling the country’s commitment to this critical sector.
At the meeting, Bisonó introduced the ChipDriven pin symbolizing the Dominican Republic’s appeal for semiconductor investments.
Acknowledging Amchamdr’s pivotal role, Bisonó expressed gratitude to William Malamud, Executive Vice President, and the team for facilitating the country’s participation in the event scheduled for July 9-11 at the Moscone Center.
