Evacuation at Downtown Center due to gas leak

Santo Domingo.- People at Downtown Center Shopping Center, located at the intersection of Núñez de Cáceres and Rómulo Betancourt avenues, were evacuated due to a potential gas leak in a restaurant on the first floor.

Firefighters from the National District responded promptly to the scene. No injuries have been reported thus far.

The shopping center released a statement on its Instagram account, confirming the incident and assuring that a general verification process had been completed, and services were restored. They concluded with, “We have no incidents or injuries. We are open again.”
