INFOTEP celebrates World Youth Skills Day

Santo Domingo.- The National Institute for Technical and Professional Training (INFOTEP)  celebrated World Youth Skills Day by sponsoring four participants in the WorldSkills competition in Lyon, France. This prestigious event will see 1,500 competitors from over 65 countries showcasing their talents in 64 technical skills.

In 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared July 15 as World Youth Skills Day to highlight the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship.

Dominican Republic Representatives

The Dominican Republic will be represented by Euris Astacio, Fraylin López, Jhaydée Valdez, and Yasmel Valdez, who have previously excelled in the WorldSkills Dominican Republic 2023 and WorldSkills Chile 2023 competitions. Euris Astacio Medina and Fraylin López from INFOTEP’s Metropolitan Regional Directorate won a silver medal in Cybersecurity. Yasmel Valdez Ramírez secured a silver medal in Bakery, and Jhaydeé Amaya Valdez Pérez earned bronze in Pastry.
