Constanza writer presents new book about the loss of her son

Constanza, DR. – Amidst colorful blankets, baskets and flowers, writer Milena Delgado Durán presented her latest book at a literary picnic held at the Hotel Constanza Villas & Club.

“Having the courage to tell stories of sadness, exposed on a huge blackboard, makes whoever tells them great. And Milena Delgado Durán, once again surprises us with a balm for the soul,” said Dominican journalist Grisbel Medina about the book.

“With the delicate pen that characterizes her, Milena reappears with the other part of the story, once again laying bare her soul, sharing details of her battles and fears; showing the path of hope and gratitude, after suffering the death of her son,” Medina expressed during the Literary Picnic held in Constanza.

Then, the author assured that with her new work she pays off the debt she had with her readers by sharing the other part of the story. “The book Belleza oculta was the canvas upon which I laid bare my pain and learned to use writing as therapy. A los pies de la cuna vacía, is my graduation, because it is written from hope, gratitude and faith,” expressed the writer from Constanza Milena Delgado.

Milena made a cover reveal in January of this year and six months later she presented her book at a literary picnic, which shows her spirit of innovation and creativity. The cover was designed by Liliana Peralta.

In the presentation act, the mayor of Constanza, Francisco Marte Hernández, declared Milena Delgado as “Meritorious Daughter” of the municipality, a resolution endorsed by the City Council.

About A los pies de la cuna vacía, social communicator Lily Montaño Grullón declared that the book deals with the loss of a son, but also the loves that came after, the rainbow babies, the literary newborns, new aromas, friends and a new vocation awakened in writing”.
