Samaná, DR.- The Dominican Association of Tourism Press (Adompretur) recently reorganized its Samaná-Sánchez-Las Terrenas chapter, ushering in a new era of leadership and a renewed focus on journalistic excellence.

The event kicked off with a comprehensive workshop on creative journalism for tourism communicators, led by renowned journalist José Rafael Sosa, who provided valuable insights into crafting compelling and informative news stories, emphasizing the importance of accurate reporting and avoiding common journalistic pitfalls.

“All the stories we write can be improved through the contribution of proper documentation and our commitment to excellence,” Sosa stated. He underscored the need for journalists to critically analyze their work and continually strive for improvement.

Following the workshop, Adompretur president Yenny Polanco Lovera administered the oath of office to the newly elected chapter officers. The new leadership team, which includes Lucas Silverio as secretary-general, is committed to enhancing the professional development of its members and promoting the region’s tourism attractions.

“The newly installed directors have the mission of continuing to train to raise their professional quality, and at the same time fulfill the objectives of projecting and promoting the tourist destinations of their region,” said Silverio.

The chapter also updated its membership roster and discussed plans for a new digital membership card. Additionally, members were reminded of the importance of paying their dues to maintain active status.

By investing in the professional growth of its members and promoting the region’s unique attractions, Adompretur Samaná is poised to play a vital role in the development of Dominican tourism.

The event received support from various tourism stakeholders, including the Ministry of Tourism and local hotels.
