Santo Domingo – The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported that for Saturday, a good weather pattern will prevail with hazy skies, very hot temperatures, and little rainfall due to the permanence of a high-pressure system and dust from the Sahara. Only the wind from the east/southeast and the local conditions of the island could generate isolated showers in the afternoon over El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Dajabón, Santiago Rodríguez, Elías Piña and San Juan.
The office also pointed out that due to the summer season and the incidence of Saharan dust particles, temperatures will remain hot, and the sensation ends up high during the next few days; for this reason, we maintain the recommendation to drink enough fluids, preferably water, wear light clothes, light colors and avoid exposure to sunlight without proper protection between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Remember that children and the elderly are more susceptible to heat.
