Depression 4 could become a tropical storm today

Santo DomingoThe Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET) reported that tropical depression no. 4 is currently located about 135 kilometers south/southeast of Varadero, Cuba.

It is moving west/northwest at 26 km/h and is forecast to turn northwest later today. Its maximum sustained winds are approximately 45 km/h with higher gusts.

This tropical depression is forecast to become a tropical storm today and continues to strengthen in the southeastern Gulf of Mexico.

The minimum central pressure was estimated at about 1009 millibars.
